Kennedy 60th anniversary
James L. and Rita Kennedy of Valenica will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Four Season Game Bird Farm lounge in Valencia. Family and friends are invited to come to celebrate. The Kennedys also went on a 30-day cruise in July to mark their anniversary.
Kennedy married the former Rita Critchlow on Sept. 15, 1962, at the Methodist Church in Harrisville.
They have five children, Jeffrey Kennedy of Butler, Jill Colangeli of Sarver, Janelle Callen of Saxonburg, John Kennedy of Valencia and Jason Kennedy of Cochranton.
They also have 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Kennedy is a dairy farmer and former Butler County commissioner. He collects and fixes Oliver tractors and enjoys going to farm and antique auctions.
Mrs. Kennedy is a dairy farmer and a member of various state and national dairy committees.
The Kennedys enjoy winters at their Florida home.
They are members of the Mars United Presbyterian Church.
