Charlotte Kloker
Charlotte E. McElravy Kloker, 97, a lifelong Karns City resident, passed away early Friday morning, Aug. 26, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Charlotte was born in Karns City on Oct. 20, 1924. She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Hackbarth McElravy.
She was a 1942 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School. In her early years, she had been employed by Penn Drake in Karns City.
Charlotte was a longtime active member of Karns City United Methodist Church, the Who Do Sunday School class, and card club.
Charlotte was married on Nov. 23, 1946, to Lewis A. Earley Sr. He preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1976. She later married Arthur N. Kloker Sr. on Oct. 5, 1979. Mr. Kloker preceded her in death on March 19, 2001.
Charlotte had served on the election board in Karns City and had the distinguished honor of being the board’s longest serving member.
In her early years, she enjoyed camping. Charlotte was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Penguins. She enjoyed jigsaw and word search puzzles, and was a Karns City Gremlin fan who attended high school basketball games and her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was well-known for her delicious baked goods. Charlotte enjoyed sitting on her porch and visiting family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving are three children, Lorraine “Lee” Robbins of Karns City, Lewis A. Earley Jr. and his wife, Annette, of Chicora, and Mark E. Earley (Missy Crocker) of Slippery Rock; a stepson, Nelson Kloker and his wife, Margie, of Butler; a stepdaughter, Rosemary Leighton and her husband, Arthur, of Bruin; six grandchildren, Erica Michael of Butler, Ryan Earley and his wife, Maria, of Pine Township, Kriste Oesterling and her husband, Travis, Nikole Earley (Ross), and Alan Earley, all of Chicora, and Megan Britt and her husband, Alex, of Erie; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Don Wigton of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Brennan, Ella, Hayden, Troy, Emmalee and Harper; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, James A. “Jim” Earley; a stepson, Arthur N. Kloker Jr.; four brothers; and six sisters.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Charlotte’s granddaughters, Kriste and Nikole, who were her recent caretakers.
KLOKER — A memorial service for Charlotte E. McElravy Kloker, who died Friday, Aug. 26, 2022, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Karns City United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bev Roscoe, church pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
