Woman, child transported in 2-vehicle crash Tuesday
A woman and child were transported to Butler Memorial Hospital after being involved in a crash with a truck Tuesday afternoon on Delwood Road in Butler Township.
Butler Township police said Michelle Deballo, 33, of Butler, failed to negotiate a right turn near an underpass on Delwood Road, crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle. Deballo was driving a small Nissan and Micah Nelson, 48, of Lima, N.Y., was driving a Ford truck.
Deballo and her 12-year-old passenger were taken from the scene to Butler Memorial by Butler Ambulance Service.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and had to be removed from the scene. The Nissan sustained heavy front-end damage in the crash. The road was closed in both directions until the vehicles were removed.
Butler Township Volunteer Fire District also responded to the crash.
