MARS — The Mars Area Public Library hosted its inaugural Libations for the Library event July 25 at the Dented Keg, 700 Adams Shoppes. The event was coordinated by the library's volunteer board members and included live music, raffle baskets, silent auction items, cornhole and celebrity bartenders.

Proceeds from this event raised just over $5,500, which will be used to support future building projects. Specifically, the library's exterior will see a few changes starting in September including new paint, shutters and flower boxes. This is the final step towards building improvements following the interior work and upgrades that have been completed over the past several years.
