Lisa A. (Ruzina) Genta, 57, of Sarver, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Greensburg on April 12, 1965, and was the daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Mackovsek) Ruzina.

Lisa graduated from Yough High School in 1983. She later went on to attend Sawyer School in Pittsburgh for her certificate as a medical assistant. Lisa also attended paramedic school at CCAC Public Institute for her EMT/paramedic license.

She worked at Saxonburg EMS, West Penn Allegheny Health Systems, and Freeport EMS, AK Puser. She belonged to “The Herminie Button Box Club” and went on tour with them to Slovenia in 1983. Lisa loved to play her button box accordion, read and grow flowers. She was loved and will be forever missed.

Lisa is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Anthony Genta of Sarver.

She was the mother of Eric, Justin and Michael; and the grandmother of Ciara, Haley and Adriana Genta.

She is also survived by several cousins; and her sister-in-law, Cookie (Frank) Hoguet.

GENTA — Family and friends of Lisa A. (Ruzina) Genta, who died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
