There’s a steamy weekend ahead in Butler County, that is when it comes to weather and events.

Three annual events will vie for attendee attention, but only the ambitious will attempt to participate in all of them. It’s possible to hit the big three if you’re attired with plenty of SPF and a good pair of waterproof shoes.

These events are for the collectors, the enthusiasts, the hobbyists and the passionate. Come learn, come with friends, come hungry.

The Portersville Steam Show summer event starts at 9 a.m. Thursday at 1512 Perry Highway. Endless displays of antique farm equipment, cars, historic shops and activities will be available through Sunday evening. Enjoy history, music and food. Admission is $5.

The weekly concert series at Cranberry Community Park, 111 Ernie Mashuda Drive, welcomes The Eldorado Band at 7 p.m. Thursday. Bring something to sit on. Refreshments will be available for purchase courtesy of the Cranberry Rotary.

Butler County Symphony Association’s free summer concert series will feature Beth Michael performing classic Broadway songs at noon Friday via Facebook or in person in the symphony building, 259 S. Main St.

The Moraine State Park Regatta has much to offer families, from kayak and boat demonstrations to 5Ks and paddleboard championships to food and music. The fun begins at 4 p.m. Friday at 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville, and continues through Sunday evening. For a complete schedule, visit morainestateparkregatta.org.

The Weavers of Harmony will give a flax-to-linen demonstration at 234 Mercer St. from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The historic process can even be experienced by attendees.

Grove City Area Historical Society & Museum, 111 College Ave., will host an art show from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The show feature the newly restored aluminum piece “Stag and Doe” which once hung in Wendell August Forge. To learn more about the piece or experience the art show, stop by Saturday!

Family Fun Day at Mars-Bethel Golf, 540 Route 228, will seek to raise awareness about the organ donation organization Team Fishguy. From noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, free attractions will include a petting zoo, face painting, balloons and even stilt walkers! Food trucks will be onsite to quench your appetite.

The Prospect-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department is taking over Main Street in Prospect with a car cruise at 11 a.m. Sunday. Bring your cars or enjoy the vehicles on display.

A Butterfly Release will take place at the South Shore of Moraine State Park on Sunday. If you’re interested in releasing a butterfly in memory of a loved one or for someone special, you can preregister at morainestateparkregatta.org/schedule/butterfly-release.

Auditions for Butler Musical Theatre Guild’s “The Marvelous Wonderettes” at MTG’s William A. Lehnerd Performance Hall & Production Center in Butler Memorial Park, start at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Participants must prepare a 32-bar vocal selection from the show and bring a copy of music for the accompanist. For more information, visit www.mtgbutler.org.
