Seneca Valley to vote on contract with AHN

JACKSON TWP — The final step in the collaboration between the Seneca Valley School District and Allegheny Health Network is expected to be taken next week.

The school board is expected to vote Monday to approve the agreement with AHN regarding the naming rights on its new Jackson Township facility: AHN Seneca Valley.

There is not a financial component in the agreement, said Linda Andreassi, district director of communications.

Heather Lewis, district athletic director, said AHN approached Seneca Valley administrators regarding the name of the new Jackson Township facility.

The AHN name is already on the district’s baseball and softball complex as well as the new aquatics center.

Also, several of the varsity sports teams’ athletic trainers are AHN doctors, as is the district’s appointed physician.

“The relationship has been very beneficial for the athletic program, and I take pride in the fact that AHN chose Seneca Valley (in naming the new medical facility),” Lewis said. “I think they look at their relationship with Seneca Valley as very positive.”
