Volunteers honored at Celebration of Collaboration event

Community members and representatives of more than 60 organizations and businesses in Butler County met at the Carousel Shelter in Alameda Park on July 14 for the 26th annual Celebration of Collaboration of the Butler Collaborative for Families.

Mary Rae Thompson was recognized as the Adult Volunteer honoree and Russell Katsko was recognized as the Youth Volunteer honoree for their efforts as part of the Food Pantry team at the Lighthouse Foundation.

Amanda Feltenberger, director of Integrated Services at Butler County Human Services, received the Spirit of Collaboration award for her efforts to facilitate and foster collaboration within the system of care.

The Butler Collaborative for Families was formed as a state-wide initiative in 1996 and is aimed to strengthen the system of care for children and families.

County Commissioners Leslie Osche and Kevin Boozel were in attendance and keynote speakers for the event included Brian White, superintendent of the Butler Area School District, and Dr. Kathy Selvaggi, chief community health officer for Butler Health System.
