Bonnie Ellison
Bonnie L. Ellison, 71, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at her residence after a courageous battle with ALS.
She was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Brookville, and was the daughter of the late Dean and Ardella (Servey) Courson.
She was a 1968 graduate of Butler High School.
Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. Always a martyr, Bonnie put her family’s needs above her own.
She was the owner and operator of two successful ice cream stands, Ellison's Dairy Bar in Prospect and Meridian.
She was a member of Magnetic's Bowling League and frequented many bars in Butler and Florida, bringing a smile to everyone she met. She will be missed dearly and always will be thought of fondly.
Surviving are her loving husband, John Ellison, of Butler; her daughters, Tammy (Tracy) Maines and Gretchen (Jake) Davis; four grandchildren, Miranda, Jonathan, Tucker and Emmy; two brothers, Dennis (Karen) Courson and Harry “Jim” (Sandy) Courson; and several nephews.
The family would like to thank her daily caregivers, ALS Association of Western PA Chapter, and the Butler VNA Hospice.
ELLISON — A private service and burial will be held for Bonnie L. Ellison, who died Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Arrangements have been handled by YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler.
