Aileen P. Thompson, 98, of Harmony, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, while under the care of Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab.

Born Nov. 3, 1923, in Carlisle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George W. Allen and Cecelia Lippert Allen.

Aileen was an optimistic and active believer in world peace, compelling her to volunteer with various organizations throughout her life, including the League of Women Voters, local churches and peace-making missions. She was a medical assistant in the days when doctors made house calls, and also a prolific writer of articles, letters to the editor, poetry and constant correspondence to friends and family. Those who knew her were blessed by her sweet and thoughtful words, warm hospitality and genuine care.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn T. Ellis, of Harmony; and two grandchildren, Laura and Allen Ellis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Thompson; her brother, George “Stephen” Allen; and her sister, Mildred Hawthorn.

THOMPSON — Services for Aileen P. Thompson, who died Monday, July 18, 2022, will be held privately by her family.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
