Chester McGuire
Chester E. McGuire, 72, of Cabot, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at his home.
Born Sept. 21, 1949, in Buffalo Township, he was the son of Kenneth F. McGuire and Rhoda D. Peach McGuire.
Chet served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1972 as a boatswains mate.
He had worked as a assembler for Traco, a boilermaker at the U.S. Steel Sintering Plant until it closed, an electrical panel assemblyman for Fuelgraff Electric and a framer for Plan V in Fox Chapel. He was a member of and former commander of Saxonburg American Legion Post 683. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita (Emery) McGuire, whom he married Oct. 15, 1971; two sons, Sean M. McGuire of Arizona and Aaron E. (Lola) McGuire of Arizona; siblings, Leona Hirtz of Natrona Heights, Ivy Danik of Tarentum, Kenneth (Karen) McGuire of Sarver, Ronald (Marci) McGuire of Verona and Mary Forsthe of West Deer; and grandchildren, Chester E. McGuire and Yaritza McGuire.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Ehrman.
Chet was a loving husband, father and brother. He was a hard worker all his life and had numerous skills and a big heart, always willing to help anyone in need. His pleasant wit, unselfishness and love for family, God and country always will be remembered.
MCGUIRE — Friends of Chester E. McGuire, who died Saturday, July 23, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Hartman officiating.
Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery with military honors performed by the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683.
Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
