Charles S. Burns

Charles S. Burns, 80, of Portersville, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, after an illness.

He was born on May 14, 1942, in Blacklick, Indiana County, Pa., and was the son of Henry C. and Evelyn Hoffman Burns.

He had previously worked for Adams Manufacturing in Portersville.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice G. Stevenson, whom he married Sept. 17, 1976; five daughters, Linda (Dana) Desmond of Butler, Robin Turner of Butler, Dolly Thoma of Butler, Polly (Donald) Mansfield of Portersville, and Joanne (Guy) Barto of Portersville; three brothers, Robert (Linda) Burns of Tennessee, William (Patty) Burns of Butler, and Richard (Cyndi) Burns of Harmony; three sisters, Julia (John) Rebel of New Galilee, Bonnie (Mitch) Dykes of Ohio, and Jean (Robin) Haas of New Castle; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by two daughters, Holly Soltesz and Donna Connors; one brother, Henry Burns; one granddaughter, Beatrice Gage; one grandson, Donald Mansfield; and one son-in-law, Charlie Turner.

The family would like to thank UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Concordia Good Samaritan Hospice, and two special grandkids, Rachael Moser and Anthony Soltesz, who helped him tremendously.

BURNS — As per his wishes, all services will be private for Charles S. Burns, who died Thursday, July 21,2022.

Arrangements were entrusted to JAY BRYAN FUNERAL HOME, Prospect.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Portersville Food Pantry.
