David Scott
David “Keith” Scott, 82, of Butler, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Butler, and was the son of the late Eugene “Jack” and Nancy (Campbell) Scott.
Keith was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a third-class ship fitter. He had worked at Portman Dairy, David H. Tack Construction and had been a master blaster in strip mines. He retired from Armco Steel's rolling mill department.
Keith was a Presbyterian, and he loved farming.
Surviving are his son, David M. Scott, of Pittsburgh; two stepsons, Lawrence (Donna) Steinheiser of Butler, and Terry (Kathleen) Steinheiser of Renfrew; a stepdaughter, Sharon Steinheiser, of Wilmington, N.C.; his close friend, Betty Burke, of Butler; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine (Meredith) Scott, who passed away in 1996; his stepson, Donald Steinheiser; a sister, Maxine Myers; and three brothers, Wesley “Reed,” Wendell “Red” and Robert Scott.
SCOTT — Friends of David “Keith” Scott, who died Saturday, July 16, 2022, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. The Rev. David Fox of White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Interment and military honors will be held at Butler County Memorial Park.
