Blood drive planned at Saint Kilian Church hall
The Knights of Columbus Saint Kilian Council will hold a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Saint Kilian Church Hall in Cranberry Township. Nonprofit blood services provider Vitalant will facilitate the drive.
“The Knights pioneered national blood drives in the 1930s,” said John Perock, Knights of Columbus Deputy Grand Knight, in a statement. “Today, giving blood remains an important element of charitable service. We encourage anyone eligible to donate blood to schedule an appointment. Your blood donation has the potential to save three patients’ lives.”
The public can make appointments to give blood by calling 877-25-VITAL or visiting vitalant.org, clicking “donate,” and using group code G0040115 to schedule a donation. People who are in good health, at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds are typically eligible to donate blood.
