Virginia L. “Rosey” Geibel of Chester and formerly of Parker, passed at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Rosey was born in Parker, on Oct. 7, 1934. She was 87 years old and the daughter of the late William E. and Maybelle Garis Taylor.

Raised on a dairy farm, Rosey loved animals, especially her dog Muffin. Rosey grew up in the Methodist Church and had a strong Christian faith. Rosey was a 1952 graduate of Allegheny Parker High School, where she was the May Queen her senior year. She retired from Allison Elementary School in Chester, where she was a kindergarten teacher’s aide.

In addition to her parents, her grandson, Jason Mitchell; two sisters, Vivian Lowe and Esther Duespohl; and a special aunt, Ressie Garis, preceded her in death.

A wonderful wife and mother, Rosey will be deeply missed by her husband of 68 years, Jim Geibel; her daughter, Rebecca (Randy) Mitchell of Wellsville; and her sons, Ronald Geibel and Michael (Janet) Geibel of Chester. There are four grandchildren, Tanika Smith, Michael Geibel Jr., Ronie Geibel and Zachary Mitchell; and several great-grandchildren.

GEIBEL — Bill Cox of Living Well Church in Wellsville will celebrate the life of Virginia L. “Rosey” Geibel, who died Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 6 p.m. Saturday at ARNER FUNERAL CHAPEL in Chester. Friends are invited to visit with family three hours prior to the service, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Additional visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Monday, July 11, 2022, at Buzzard Funeral Home in Parker.

Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
