Stone

Ruth L. Stone, 79, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Concordia at the Orchard.

She was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Rochester, Pa., a daughter of the late George Dewey and Roberta "Tiny" M. (Thompson) Gardner.

Ruth was a graduate of Moniteau and the Butler Hospital X-ray technician training. She had worked at various medical offices in Butler. Ruth attended and was very active at Thorn Creek United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Her joy in life was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her three sons, Patrick (Shari) Stone of Butler, Steven R. Stone and Keith (Deidre) Stone; five grandchildren, Kody (Wendy) Stone, Katie (Anthony) Elias, Tyler (fiancee, Morgan) Stone, and Nikki and Shane Stone; one great-grandson, Maverick; three sisters, Donna (Gardner) Depew of Butler, Shirley (Gardner) Porter of California and Marilyn (Gardner) Banks of Clark Mills; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, her husband, Patrick E. Stone, whom she married Sept. 1, 1962, and who passed away on July 5, 2009; and her brother and sister, Robert Gardner and Sally (Gardner) Shay.

STONE — A memorial service will be held at a later date for Ruth L. Stone, who died Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice in memory of Ruth.
