Pens take defenseman Pickering
MONTREAL — The Pittsburgh Penguins selected defenseman Owen Pickering with the 21st overall pick in the NHL draft Thursday night.
The 6-foot-4 Pickering played for Swift Current of the Western Hockey League. He is considered a strong skater with scoring potential down the road.
