David Bodkin

David P. Bodkin, 72, of Cabot, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2022, at the emergency room of the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born on Sept. 23, 1949, in Uniontown, he was a son of the late Edwin F. Bodkin and Alberta L. (Shipp) Bodkin.

David had worked as laser optician for the II-VI Corporation in Saxonburg for 37 years, retiring in 2016.

He had been dedicated in helping the Boy Scouts, and while in the Boy Scouts, he had received the Medal of Merit for saving his cousin’s life. He had enjoyed hunting, fishing and painting. He was saved, as he knew Jesus Christ as his Savior.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene N. (Edwards) Bodkin, whom he married July 11, 1970; one son, Gerald D. Bodkin of Maine; one daughter, Tammy M. Bodkin of Cabot; his siblings, Naomi Easu of Virginia Beach, Va., Edwin (Karen) Bodkin Jr. of Morgantown, Va., and Mark (Lori) Bodkin of Deep Creek, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

BODKIN — Private services will be held for the family of David P. Bodkin, who died Monday, July 4, 2022.
