Special Needs Dance
Therapy House will be hosting a dance for adults with special needs from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Quality Inn, 300 Tarentum Bridge Road, New Kensington.
Any adult with special needs, 17 years or older from the surrounding area, including Butler County, is invited to join in the activities. There will be food, drinks, a DJ and limbo.
Ronna Hochbein, director of rehab, said the organizers of the dance want to provide a space for participants to interact and have fun.
“It’s really hard for adults with special needs to find socialization,” Hochbien said, so she and the rest of the team are working to arrange that environment.
So far, nearly 50 people have signed up, but there is room for around 200.
Anyone interested in attending the dance must email dances4everyone@gmail.com to register in advance. Hochbien will answer any additional questions through email, as well.
Tickets are $25 for attendees, and $15 for chaperones and other guests. Attendees are allowed to bring more than one chaperone.
