Eileen W. Hofmeister, 95, of Harmony, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, while under the care of Wexford Healthcare Center.

Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. Mulkearn and Mathilda Blum Mulkearn.

Eileen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harmony, where she participated in the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA).

She worked in the accounting department at U.S. Steel in Homestead for many years.

An avid animal lover, Eileen especially loved her dogs and cats. She also cherished living on the farm for decades. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother-in-law, James “Jim” Hofmeister; two nieces, one great-niece and one great-nephew; and her friends and caretakers, who were her extended family, Ed and Melinda Leyland, and Lisel and Alan Moser.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. “Chuck” Hofmeister, who passed away in 2005; and her sister, Marjorie Fraser.
