Howard Roe
On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Howard I. Roe, 76, of McCandless Township, died unexpectedly.
He was the beloved father of Alison (Ryan) Landrum of New Mexico, and Marshall Roe of Greentree; grandfather of Lincoln Paul and Avery Jane; uncle of Lindsay Christiansen; friend and former spouse of Connie Coble-Roe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leila Jane (Uber) and Chester Roe; and his brother, Richard Roe.
Mr. Roe was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1963. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1968, with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and from Case Western Reserve University in 1979, with a master's degree in business administration.
After obtaining his engineering degree, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served as a lieutenant from 1969 to 1972. He retired in 2013 as the director of new business development at PPG Industries Inc. after 29 years of dedicated employment. Prior to his time with PPG, he worked for Diamond Shamrock for 14 years.
Mr. Roe devoted his life to his family. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was an avid golfer and when he wasn't on the greens or arranging the annual friends golf trip of 30+ years, he enjoyed playing poker, bowling, caring for his yard and researching his family ancestry. Hee loved Pittsburgh sports — let's go Steelers!
