Shawn Leigh Cypher, 49, of Slippery Rock, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness.

He was born on July 27, 1972, in Pittsburgh, to William Stephen Cypher Sr. and Linda Lee Buchanan Cypher.

He married Maggie Elizabeth Shumaker in 1995.

Shawn graduated from Slippery Rock High School, and later attended the University of Pittsburgh.

He worked as an insulator for over 30 years, and was a member of Pittsburgh Heat and Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local Union 2.

He was a member of Hillcrest PCA Church in Volant, where he had served as a deacon.

Shawn was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie, and his sons, Quinn E. and Colin I. Cypher, all at home; his parents, William S. and Linda L. Cypher, his brother, William Stephen (Elizabeth) Cypher Jr., and his nephew, Corey N. (Kelly) Cypher, all of Slippery Rock.

CYPHER — A memorial service for Shawn Leigh Cypher, who died Saturday, June 4, 2022, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Hillcrest PCA Church, 5114 Perry Highway, Volant, with Pastor Steve Richman presiding.

Arrangements were handled by SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
