Rita Yasinsky
Rita D. Yasinsky, 89, of Butler, passed away on Sunday morning, May 29, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 15, 1932, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Howard Graham and Helen (Leibler) Graham.
Rita was a 1950 graduate of Butler High School, and had worked for the YWCA Montessori Preschool for 35 years, where her students called her Miss Rita.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, and St. Paul’s Guild and Christian Mothers. She had been a Eucharistic minister, was a former member of the St. Paul Parish Council, had volunteered for many church activities, was a sponsor for RCIA, and had volunteered for many charity fundraisers over the years. Rita had also been a member of the YWCA and the YMCA, where she liked to do aerobic exercise, and was also a member at Planet Fitness. She loved to spend time with her family, shopping and traveling, especially to Ocean City, Md.
Surviving are her two sons, Stephen Douglas Yasinsky and Bradford Scott Yasinsky; and one daughter, Chris Day.
Rita was lovingly called Ma by her grandchildren, Travis Day, Tyler Yasinsky, Brandon Yasinsky and Tiffany Day Millis (Spencer).
She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Rick Freeland.
She loved her granddaughter Tiffany’s dog, Winston.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Yasinsky, who passed away on March 3, 1986; three brothers, Howard “Tony,” Charles and Robert Graham; and one sister, Jeannette Freeland.
YASINSKY — A Mass of Christian burial for Rita D. Yasinsky, who died Sunday, May 29, 2022, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Kevin Fazio, pastor, will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
