Donna Deaner
Donna L. Deaner, 81, of Saxonburg, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at her home.
Born Feb. 12, 1941, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Roy McCurdy and Mabel Marie Steffey McCurdy.
Donna worked at the Somerset Herald, J.C. Penney, Big K, JJ Newberry Company and Buday Printing. She also worked as substitute office staff for South Butler County School District.
Donna was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was church secretary and also a member of the Rainbow Girls. She held various volunteer positions with the Boy Scouts of America and the Saxonburg Fireman's Association.
Donna was a loving grandmother, who enjoyed puzzles, cooking for her family, bowling, square dancing and gardening. She was a dedicated volunteer, and was passionate about purple.
Surviving are her loving children, Bryan Deaner of Portland, Ore., and Brenda (Jeff) Negley of Freeport; her grandson, Levi (Alyson Kesicki) Negley of Freeport; her granddaughter, Olivia Negley of Freeport; her great-granddaughter, Kinsley Negley; and her sister, Darlene Knepper of Berlin, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Franklin Deaner, whom she married June 24, 1961, and who passed away June 26, 2016; and a brother, Charlie McCurdy.

A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday at the IOOF/Berlin Fulmer Cemetery, 138 Cumberland St., Berlin, Pa., with Pastor Robert Keplinger officiating.
