Martha J. McMillin Baptiste, 91, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, while under the care of Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Feb. 21, 1931, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late John McMillin and Martha Fend McMillin.

Martha enjoyed camping at Deer Meadow campground in Cook Forest for over 30 years. She often sang an off-key version of “You Are My Sunshine” to all of her grandchildren, a memory that will forever be cherished by all. Martha also enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve. Her spunk, feistiness and zest for life will be missed by so many.

Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, David M. (Marlene Uram) Baptiste of Beverly Hills, Fla., Terry W. (Debby) Baptiste of Hernando, Fla., and Wendy J. (David) Miller of Butler; her six grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, William J. Orth and Margaret Gallagher; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Baptiste, whom she married on May 10, 1952, and who passed away on Dec. 20, 2020; her sons, Bruce and Timothy Baptiste; her siblings, John McMillin, LaVerne McMillin, Alice McMillin, Judy Orth and Norene “Babe” McMillin Steere; and her stepfather, John Orth.

BAPTISTE — In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services for Martha J. McMillin Baptiste, who died Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Arrangements have been entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
