Covert

Geraldine M. Covert, 87, of Butler, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Born in Butler, on June 29, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Bridget Smith Higgins.

She worked as a clerk at the Butler County Job Center and retired in 1996.

Geraldine was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by three children, Scott E. Covert and his wife, Michele, of Littlestown, Pa., Christopher A. Covert of Renfrew, and Shannan M. Dorcy and her husband, Curt, of Butler; one brother, Kenneth Higgins, and his wife, Sylvia, of Butler; one sister, Mary Seman, and her husband, Stewart, of Hinsdale, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Robert, Jacob, Cyle, Colin, Cameron and Chloe; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Covert, who passed away April 25, 2018; and two brothers, George Higgins and Thomas Higgins.

COVERT — Friends of Geraldine M. Covert, who died Thursday, May 26, 2022, will be received from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m Wednesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations to All Saints Parish, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001, or to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust St., Butler, PA 16001.
