Kittanning man charged with homicide related to Sunday shooting
Nicholas Alexander Fortuna, 24, of Kittanning, is charged with homicide in relation to a shooting Sunday night in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.
A news release from state police said they responded to 251 Wilson Road in North Buffalo Township at around 10:25 p.m. Sunday for an altercation that a caller said involved gunfire. Jonathon Blackburn, 23, of Worthington, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Armstrong County coroner, after allegedly being shot by Fortuna.
The state police Troop D major case team also responded to the scene to further investigate the incident and surrounding circumstances.
Fortuna has been denied bail and is being held in Armstrong County Jail. In addition to criminal homicide, Fortuna also is being charged with possession of a weapon.
State police are still investigating the incident.
