James P. Willison, 88, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Butler passed away May 16, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

He was born March 23, 1934, in Butler, to the late Russell Lee Willison and the late Lois (Peifly) Willison.

James worked at Butler Armco Steel Corporation as a foreman at Plant 2 retiring in 1993.

He was a founding member of Oak Hills Christian Church where he served as treasurer, elder and trustee.

James loved the Cardinals baseball team, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with the family, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed watching college basketball and baseball.

He is survived by one son and his wife, John and Sue Willison of Cranberry Township; one daughter and her husband, Kathy and Roger Menard of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, Laura Willison, Christie and her husband Adam Blair, Andy and his wife Lindsay Menard, Alison Menard, Alec Menard and Anthony Menard; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene H. Willison whom he married Oct. 18, 1951, and who passed away Sept. 30, 2008; and two brothers.

WILLISON — Friends of James P. Willison, who died May 16, 2022, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Gillgrist of Oak Hills Christian Church officiating.

Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dementia Society of American, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
