Mary Ellen Shanor

Mary Ellen Shanor, 96, of Butler, passed away on May 11, 2022.

She was born June 29, 1925, in Greenville, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Howard A. Morrison and Zoa R. (Garts) Morrison

Mary Ellen was a homemaker. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 19 years. Mary Ellen was an avid quilter and also enjoyed reading.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith Hall of West Sunbury, and Gail (Jerry) Hendershot of Westfield, Pa.; one son, Willis (Nancy) Shanor of Edmond, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Shanor of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Shanor, whom she married on March 24, 1944, and who passed away on June 21, 1993; her son, Terry R. Shanor; and a son-in-law, Ken Dewayne Hall.

SHANOR — Friends of Mary Ellen Shanor, who died Wednesday, May 11, 2022, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kimberly van Driel officiating.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Lutherlyn Campership Fund, 500 Lutherlyn Lane, Butler, PA 16001.
