“Mrs. John P. Graham,” or Marian Graham, was crowned Mother of the Year on May 8, 1970 at the Elks Auxiliary meeting and was so recognized in the following day’s edition of the Butler Eagle.

The mother of six daughters and one son, Graham was also the Butler’s Sesquicentennial Queen in 1950 and an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church community as a Sunday School and youth program teacher.

Graham was applauded for her work as a member and leader in various Butler auxiliaries, including the Lions Club, Elks Golf League, Butler Baseball Mothers, Butler County and Bashline Hospitals.

In addition, Graham was a member of the Associated Artist of Butler County and the Music and Arts Festival in the same year.
