Randy Giesler was selected to be the new member of Slippery Rock Area School District’s board Thursday night.

According to superintendent Alfonso Angelucci, the school board interviewed five candidates for the vacant position at the Slippery Rock Middle School library. He said Giesler was chosen for his extensive committee experience.

“From what I can see, the board appreciated his being a lifetime resident of the school district and his service on several committees. Given those qualities, he brought the most to the table,” he said.

Giesler is currently the director of sales for a company in Grove City and possesses an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Giesler will be sworn in as a school board member at the board meeting May 9.
