Govan

Janice C. Govan, 81, of Valencia, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Miller Skander.

Janice was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church and past matron of the former Mars, now Zelienople, Chapter 271 Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her children, Frank (Jodie) Govan of Williamsport, Dale (Janet) Govan of Butler, John (Jolienne) Govan of Valencia, and Michael Govan of Montana; her grandchildren, Caitlin (Paul), Olivia (Steven), Nicole, Samantha, Tyler, Emily and Chase; two great-granddaughters, Georgia and Goldie; and a brother, Dale “Tony” Skander of Evans City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Govan, whom she married on Nov. 20, 1959, and who died on Oct. 19, 2019; a sister, Stephanie Grove; and her brothers, Robert, Richard and David Skander.

GOVAN — A memorial service for Janice C. Govan, who died Monday, March 21, 2022, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at the Valencia United Methodist Church, 66 Almira St., Valencia.

Burial will be in West Union Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
