Richard S. Borland of Chicago, Ill, formerly of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021.

Richard was born Oct. 14, 1937 in Butler.

He was the son of Mary and Bruce S. Borland; and the dear brother of the late Bruce H. and John H. Borland.

He spent his early years in Butler. His family moved to Evanston, Ill., in 1945. Richard graduated from Evanston High School in 1955. He spent his college years at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., and after graduation, he attended the University of Michigan Law School, where he earned his law degree.

He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served his country for four years as a commissioned officer.

Richard was a partner with Peterson and Ross for many years, and became a partner in the law firm of Hinshaw and Colbertson, Chicago, Ill., until his retirement.

He was a world traveler, and retired to his beloved home in Michigan.
