BC3 golf team stays undefeated

FRANKLIN TWP — Troy Loughry earned medalist honors with a 2-under-par 70 as the Butler County Community College golf team defeated Anne Arundel and Westmoreland CCC recently at Lake Arthur Golf Club.

The Pioneers’ team score of 317 included Liam Kosior with a 74, Tanner Hohmann an 86 and Collin Witouski an 87, Freport graduates Jack Masori chipped in with an 88, Sarah Fischer a 115.

Anne Arundel scored a 322, Westmoreland CCC a 421.

BC3 is 23-0 this spring and was 13-0 in the fall. The team returns to action Friday at Glengarry Golf Links.

All Star Sprints at Lernerville

BUFFALO TWP — Tony Stewart’s Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars will race Friday night at Lernerville Speedway.

The All Stars will be at the Sarver oval for the first time suince 2019. Tyler Courtney, from Indianapolis, leads the point standings by 22 over Parker Price-Miler of Kokomo, Ind. A number of local drivers,. Sye Lynch, Carl Bowser, Jack Sodeman Jr., Brent Matus, Darin Gallagher, Brandon Spithaler and Tim Shaffer, are expected to join the feld.

RUSH Sportsman Modifieds and the Pro Stocks will also be on the card. The gates open at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies set for 6:45 p.m.
