College notes

LIZ SIMMS (Butler) finished first in the 800 meters while running for Davidson at the Gamecock Invitational in South Carolina. She ran the event in 2 minutes, 15.89 seconds.

JESSE CLARY (Cranberry Twp., Eden Christian) doubled and singled, scoring a run in Grove City’s 12-2 baseball win over Thiel in the first game of a doubleheader.

LUKE VITTONE (Seven Fields, Eden Christian) singled and walked four times in Grove City’s 13-11 win over Thiel in the second game of the doubleheader. ELIJAH WHITE (Zelienople, Portersville Christian) picked up his first collegiate win, striking out two in two scoreless innings.

JACOB PATTON (Moniteau) won the 100-meter hurdles for Westminster with a personal-best time of 15.51 seconds in a meet at Thiel.

JOCELYN McNANY (Seneca Valley) and CAMI McNANY (Allegheny-Clarion Valley) had back-to-back singles in the seventh inning to lead Penn State Behrend to a 12-11 softball win over Mt. Aloysius in the first game of a doubleheader.

JUSTIN STEWART (Butler) had a pair of hits and scored a run for California (Pa.) in a 10-3 baseball loss to Mercyhurst in the first game of a doubleheader. The Vulcans (22-11, 7-7) dropped the second game, 4-3 in extra innings.
