CVE Fun Run/Walk

ZELIENOPLE — The CVE Fun Run/Walk will take place May 7, beginning at 10 a.m. Check-in is at 9:30 a.m.

The event begins at Zelienople Community Park. Every student who registers before April 23 will get a shirt on race day and every student receives a prize at the finish line. The course covers 1.43 miles.

Signs of encouragement to be placed along the course will be made from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the park. The course route will be marked that day for anyone who wants to take a practice run or walk.

Karate tourney

NEW KENSINGTON — The annual Pittsburgh Karate Championships will begin at 10 a.m. April 23 at the Quality Inn on Tarentum Bridge Road in New Kensington.

The open tournament will include representation of karate, kung fu, Taekwon-do and more. Contestants range in age from 5-under to 50-over. Seven grand champion trophies in children and adult divisions will be awarded.
