Ruth Ann Alben, 47, of Slippery Rock, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in Butler County.

Ruth was born in Butler, on July 4, 1974.

She attended Allegheny-Clarion Valley and Gateway schools. She went on to attend and graduate from Slippery Rock University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in sociology. After school, she had a career in data processing, working with various companies at the underground mines in Boyers.

Ruth led a wonderful life. She married Scott A. Alben on Oct. 22, 1994. She loved movies, books and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She also loved spending time with her many cats and dogs. Above everything, she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Alben, of Slippery Rock; her parents, Sylvia Garlitz Wulff and Ronald Wulff, of Oil City; her sister, Beth (William Prezlock) Provins, of Mercer; and her brother, Ronald (Julie) Wulff, of Venetia, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruth Garlitz.

ALBEN — The family of Ruth Ann Alben, who died Tuesday, April 5, 2022, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Mumaw of Center Presbyterian Church officiating.
