James F. Steighner, 76, of East Butler, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022.

He was born in Bethesda, Md., on Aug. 31, 1945, and was the son of the late Herbert and Edith (Benson) Steighner.

James retired from the U.S. Navy as a private auditor.

He loved playing bocce and going for walks. James was also a gold member of the East Butler Fire Hall.

He was loved and will be forever missed.

James is survived by his sister, Kathleen (Larry) Baptiste; his brother, David (Pam) Steighner; two nieces; and two nephews.

STEIGHNER — A Mass of Christian burial for James F. Steighner, who died Monday, April 4, 2022, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Clare Parish-St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Butler.

Burial will be held privately.

Arrangements were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
