Julia Megnin
Julia K. Megnin, 91, of Syracuse, N.Y., formerly of Butler, and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, March 28, 2022.
Born Nov. 1, 1930, in Goshen, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Bert and Inez King.
Julia was a graduate of Goshen High School, she graduated valedictorian of Manchester University with her B.A., Boston University with a master of theology degree, and Syracuse University with her master’s degree.
Julia worked for Butler Area School District for 20 years, where she was an elementary special education teacher, retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed traveling the world, living overseas, golf, volunteer work, sailing, reading, and was a member of DeWitt Community Church and the First United Methodist Church of Butler.
Julia was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas O. King; her sisters-in-law, Flora King, Eva Megnin and Ingetraude Schoeck; and her brothers-in-law, Volkmar U. Megnin and Frederick Schoeck.
Surviving are her children, Martin K. Megnin and Daniel F. (Katie S. Feiman) Megnin; her grandchildren, Corinne L. Morris, Colin N. Megnin, Christine J. Vargas, Heath W. Megnin and Seth B. Megnin; and several nieces and nephews.
MEGNIN — A funeral service for Julia K. Megnin, who died Monday, March 28, 2022, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at EATON-TUBBS FAYETTEVILLE CHAPEL, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville, N.Y.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
