Miller Minutes: Weekend Events

Unfortunately, there are no events scheduled in Butler County this weekend ...

Just kidding. That was an early April Fools’ Day joke for you.

Never fear, if you’ve finished binge-watching “Bridgerton” season two or are through listening to the countless albums that came out last Friday, there’s plenty of fun to be had in Butler this weekend to occupy you.

The Back Hall Gallery at Cranberry Township Municipal Building will usher in Marge Gardner, an artist from Baden, this April. The oil and watercolor landscape painter’s works will be up for the entire month, and a meet-and-greet with Gardner will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. April 14.

This Saturday, Butler students of all ages will show off their artistic talent at the FAB Art and Music Showcase. The night at Butler Intermediate High School will feature hundreds of artworks, games, art activities for kids, musical performances, awards and raffles from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Zelienople Historical Society is holding its annual Spring Tea from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 215 N. Main St. Tickets are $22 a person.

Lots will be happening at Butler Senior High School for Saturday’s Best Buddies Eggstravaganza. The Easter Egg Dash 5K race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the Bunny Hop One Mile Fun Run/Walk at 11 a.m. Then the Easter Egg Hunts will begin at noon, with five different age categories.

The Mars Area High School Student Council will hold its Spring Eggstravaganza featuring games, an egg hunt, a visit from the Easter Bunny and more at the Mars Athletic Complex, 1775 Three Degree Road, on Sunday. Members of student council will be collecting donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Activities will commence at 11:30 a.m., but will be canceled if inclement weather arises. Those interested in attending can RSVP via the Mars Area School District website.

If you can’t get enough of Easter cheer, another egg hunt will take place Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in Graham Park, 132 Graham Park Drive in Cranberry Township. It appears the Easter Bunny will make an appearance there too.
