Yula Bowser
Yula E. Bowser, 85, of Ford City, passed away at ACMH Hospital on March 26, 2022.
She was born Yula Edna Slagle in Kittanning on Jan. 21,1937, to Merrell and Margaret Slagle.
Yula was a loving and caring military wife. She met her husband, Wilbur C. (Sonny) Bowser Sr. at the local Kittanning roller skating rink. After marriage, she traveled across the world, and they built a family of six together before settling down in Ford City.
Yula was a faithful Christian servant of the Lord and was a devoted church family member of the Kittanning Church of God.
Yula’s enjoyment was to see the faces of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren light up after receiving the crocheted animals she made for them. Every item she crafted always came from the heart. Yula loved to play family board games, and her excitement when she would win will be greatly missed by her family and friends. However, her special purpose in life was spreading the Lord’s message to all who would listen. She was a caring and compassionate woman in Christ and in her family. Yula will be greatly missed by every life she touched.
Yula is survived by five daughters and one son, Janie (Robert Jr.) Davis, Tina (Robert) Dolan, Sandra (Rodger Sr.) Stitt, Mary M. Bowser, Lisa A. Bowser and Wilbur C. Bowser Jr.
Yula is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda (Gregory) Haynes, Rodger (Whitney) Stitt Jr., Ashley (Josh) Sawyers, Robert L. Davis III (Jessica Lawson), Cordell C. Bowser, Andrew K. Housley Jr. (Courtney Clinger) and Brianna Y. Housley (Blake Sheffler).
Yula’s legacy will continue on with her great-grandchildren, Emma Haynes; Kylee Lawson; Lucas and Emarson Sawyers; Derek and Violet Stitt, and, coming in August, baby Stitt; Rhett Clinger; and coming in September, baby Housley. She also is survived by several four-legged grandpets.
Yula was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur C. (Sonny) Bowser Sr.; her parents, Merrell and Margaret Slagle; her two brothers, John and Richard Slagle; and two sisters, Betty Lindberg and Margie Dunmire.
