Winter blows back into county this weekend
Butler County hasn’t seen the last of winter weather, as scattered snow showers will sweep the area starting early Saturday morning.
According to a meteorologist at the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh, Friday night rain could be mixed with snow from 3 to 6 a.m. Saturday as a cold front from the Great Lakes moves in. Northern local areas will see little accumulation, possibly only an inch over the duration of the weekend.
While precipitation chances are 100% Saturday, Sunday’s only chance of snow is before 2 p.m. Road temperatures are expected to remain warm, keeping travel conditions decent.
Friday night could reach near freezing temperatures, but a high of nearly 40 degrees is possible for Saturday. Sunday’s temperatures will hover around the mid-20-degree range in the morning and reach a high of 30 degrees later.
Wind gusts are expected Saturday night to reach 21 miles per hour and taper off between 11 and 15 miles per hour Sunday.
