Car crashes into RV at Rt. 8 dealership
BUTLER TWP — Police said road rage and careless driving could have factored into a woman crashing her vehicle into the back of an $92,000 RV at Butler RV Center & Auto Sales on Pittsburgh Road Friday evening.
The woman was traveling northbound on Route 8 when she lost control of her vehicle, which slid across three lanes of traffic and into the back of an RV at the dealership at 196 Pittsburgh Road. Police said it’s possible another car was involved in events leading up to the incident.
“We’re hearing reports of careless driving and road rage prior to (the crash) from passersby,” a Butler Township officer said. “There will be an investigation.”
The impact of the crash caused three RVs to sustain damage. The woman’s vehicle hit the back end of a trailer, causing it to bump into two others. The woman’s vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Lt. James Senopole of Butler Township Volunteer Fire District said the first RV hit had a price tag of $92,000 and sustained significant damage.
“It’s amazing she walked away,” he said of the driver.
Butler Township Police, Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and Butler Ambulance Service all responded to the scene.
The name of the driver was not available.
