Berniece V. Hepfl, 85, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital after a difficult battle with cancer.

Born May 17, 1936, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Martha (Caldwell) Brown.

Berniece married Sherwell R. Hepfl on Sept. 17, 1953. She truly loved motherhood and being a homemaker — she actually sang when she cleaned. She was an excellent cook, baker, seamstress and gardener, from which her family greatly benefited. She will be deeply missed.

Berniece is survived by six children, Thomas (Kathy) Hepfl, Larry Hepfl, Sherry (Raymond) Glace, Brenda (Jeffrey) Koerner, Kevin (Sherry) Hepfl and Scott (Rose) Hepfl; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles (Janet) Brown.

In addition to her parents, Berniece was preceded in death by her husband (Sherwell); one son, Ricky; three sisters, Betty, Barb and Doris; and one stepbrother, John.

HEPFL — Arrangements for Berniece Hepfl, who died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, have been entrusted to SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A private memorial service will be held and internment will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
