Slippery Rock school district thanks hospital employees
Slippery Rock Area School District administrative staff and teachers raised $600 to purchase pens for the staff at Butler Memorial Hospital.
A news release from the school district said the “1,000 Thanks” project also included cards and notes of appreciation from students in kindergarten through grade 12 addressed to Butler Health System health care workers.
Joan Timko, nurse for the district’s high school and middle school, said the school district has formed a close relationship with the staff at Butler Health System during the coronavirus pandemic, and she is happy to give them thanks from the students.
“As a school nurse, I know firsthand of their willingness to always be there with advice and support when we need it. We wanted to be sure they felt the gratitude we have for each and every one of them,” Timko said.
