Daniel Joseph Jr.
Daniel F. Joseph Jr., 84, of Slippery Rock, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Born Feb. 25, 1938, in Butler, he was the son of the late Daniel and Clara Moore Joseph Sr.
He was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora.
He was a 1956 graduate of Butler High School, and later, a graduate of Robert Morris University. His schooling and degree lead him to a career as a licensed tax preparer and certified public accountant.
He served as a U.S. Marine from 1956 to 1960 in radio communications.
As a teen, he enjoyed roller skating at the Castle Roller Rink and was a lifetime fan of the Steelers and Pirates. In his later years, he enjoyed writing poetry and listening to Doo Wop music. Family and friends continue to enjoy board and dice games he created.
He is survived by his former wife, Carol Kennedy Hornyack, whom he was married to from 1956 to 1970; their daughters, Kathie A. Joseph of Gresham, Ore., Kelly L. Edmunson (David) of Gresham, Ore., and Karen S. McClintock (Ron) of Beavercreek, Ore.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, George Joseph (Laura) of Le Claire, Iowa; two nieces; three great-nieces; and a number of cousins.
He also shared a part of his life with his former wives, Carol Parsons and Hasmik; and his stepchildren Rick, Victoria, Andrea, Dana, Edward and Ida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and his former wife, Carol Parsons.
JOSEPH — Funeral services will be held at a later date for Daniel F. Joseph Jr., who died Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
