Hoon

Garnet A. Hoon, 99, of Cabot, passed away on March 14, 2022, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Forestville, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Johnson and the late Bertha Stang Johnson.

Garnet was a member of the Fellowship at Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a life member of Tanglewood Senior Center, a former member of the Sixty Plus Bowling Team, and a former member of Chicora Senior Center.

Garnet is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Hoon and his wife, Ruth, of Novi, Mich.; four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Hoon, who passed away on Jan. 1, 1978; one infant son; one daughter, Jean Barger; one grandson, Thomas Einsporn; and three brothers.

HOON — Friends of Garnet A. Hoon, who died Monday, March 14, 2022, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Hartman of Concordia Lutheran Ministries officiating.

Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
