Taormina

Nancy Margaret Taormina was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on March 12, 2022, at the age of 63.

She was born to Jerome and Nancy Scherer in Pittsburgh.

After graduating from Clarion University, Nancy met her husband, Thomas Taormina. They were married for 40 wonderful years. Together they had three children, Amy, Anthony and Nancy.

Nancy was an avid gardener and bird lover, who loved to read and stay active. She devoted much of her time to her family members and her beloved dogs, Maya and Tucker. She was never happier than when she was with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her son, Anthony; her daughters, Amy Serafini (husband Joe) and Nancy Ashker (husband Kameron); her grandchildren, Aleah and Roman; her father, Jerome Scherer; and her siblings, Kathleen Synnott, Jerome Scherer (wife Rose), Michael Scherer (wife Cassie), Patricia Cavallo, Katherine Christman (husband Joe), Diane Seymour and Patrick Scherer (wife Shannon).

TAORMINA — A viewing service for Nancy Margaret Taormina, who died Saturday, March 12, 2022, is scheduled to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME, 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Kilian Parish, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township.
