Ekastown Road is expected to be closed Thursday at the Pittsburgh Street and Route 228 roundabout for an extended period as state police investigate a head-on crash involving a pick up truck and tractor trailer.

According to dispatch calls, reports of an accident came in around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

A white pickup truck traveling eastbound collided head on with a tractor trailer heading westbound, state police said. The pick up truck veered into oncoming traffic on a curve in the road, police said.

Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company is redirecting traffic at the roundabout.
