Robert Olmsted
Robert William Olmsted, 93, formerly of Butler, passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Born April 20, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of the late Arthur George Olmsted and Anna Martha (Hafer) Olmsted.
Robert had a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Case Institute of Technology and had been the president of Magnetics, a division of Spang & Co., retiring in 1991.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting wine, listening to music, reading, gardening, and traveling in the United States and to Europe.
Surviving is his wife, Eleanor Mary (Blasko) Olmsted, whom he married March 6, 1961; his children, Robert A. (Kathy) Olmsted of Chanhassen, Minn.; Elizabeth (Alan) Davis of Missouri City, Texas; Mary (Bob) Pokrzywa of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; Susan (Adin Gilman) Olmsted of Greenfield, Mass.; Kathryn (John Leggett) Olmsted of North Hero, Vt.; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Olmsted of Fairhaven, Mass.; and grandchildren, Mathew Olmsted and Douglas Olmsted of Chanhassen, Minn., Robert Olmsted of Atlanta, Ga., Eleanor Davis of Missouri City, Texas, Joanne Pokrzywa of Atlanta, Ga., and Julia Pokrzywa of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Olmsted; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Olmsted; and his sister, Ann Watts.
OLMSTED — Friends of Robert William Olmsted, who died Wednesday, March 2, 2022, will be received from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Baver, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
